Will AB InBev’s acquisition of SABMiller hurt the craft brewing industry?
In case you haven’t heard, Anheuser-Busch InBev is slated to acquire SABMiller for approximately $106 billion, a deal that would combine the two largest brewer’s in the world. The two companies own hundreds of brands, including Budweiser, Corona, Grolsch and Stella Artois. While Anheuser-Busch InBev is currently in the process of seeking regulatory approval for the deal, a U.S. Senate subcommittee has raised concerns that the merger would have a negative effect on craft brewers and limit consumer choice.
